The Bolles Varsity Girl’s Lacrosse Team has kicked off their season with a 3-1 record. Tonight, February 22nd, the Bulldogs will take on the Episcopal Eagles at The Episcopal School of Jacksonville.

This year, the team is working on building comaraderie. To accomplish this, the players are participating in a “secret sister” program on game days. Sophia Mostovych ’17 explains the program: “We’re doing secret sisters this year, so every game day we bring our secret sister a goodie with something inspirational or meaningful for that game to get pumped and ready for it.”

Devon Haskell ’17 has her actual sister on the team. Haskell stated, “I like having Claire on the team cause it’s my last year before college and going to practice together everyday makes us even closer, especially because we play the same position.”

The team is very positive about their upcoming games. Haskell ’17 explains, “looks positive as long as we can improve our teamwork skills and self discipline, but honestly the most important thing is that we enjoy playing together as a team and I think we’re working in that direction.”

Also, the team is positive about the future of the girl’s lacrosse program. The seniors want to set an example for the younger players, and leave an impact on the program that will continue to be there after they graduate.

Mostovych ’17 explains: “As seniors, we want to leave this year feeling confident that the girls lacrosse program, being fairly new, will take off and continue to grow as the years go and we believe that comes with commitment to the team, tough practices, motivation, and bringing positive attitude to the field every day.”
