Gun Control

This cartoon depicts how much Florida’s roughly 3.1 million public and private school students are worth in comparison to the $3.3 million that Marco Rubio received from the NRA for campaign funds. The students in the drawing have no faces because to politicians, in their refusal to enact gun safety laws, we are just faceless, nameless people. When you divide $3,303,355 by 3,140,167 students (as of 2018), we are each individually worth about $1.05. This concept arose after the Parkland shooting on February 14, 2018 by the students that attend(ed) Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. On the day of the shooting, Marco Rubio lost $17.85, but the students, faculty, staff, and their families lost 17 people who were friends, children, teachers and students, worth so much more than only $1.05.
