Failure to Recycle

Historically, the Bolles community has struggled with recycling. The student body, generally, does not differentiate between the schools recycling and trash bins, which leads to waste products contaminating the collection of actual recyclable materials. Without the ability to sort through the tons of trash produced on an average school day, almost all our recycling ends up in trash bags, bound for a landfill. The administration has implemented different measures to make our school more recycling conscious, like replacing the cafeteria’s plastic takeout boxes with paper ones. However, to make Bolles truly recycle friendly, it is up to everyone to be aware of how and where they are disposing their trash.
