Fantastic Food and Where to Eat It
On campus, we have 3 main sources of food: The Cafeteria, the Canteen, and the Campus Store. So… which to go to?
The Cafeteria:
It’s the main hub of lunch, with a variety of options. However, it can easily get packed.
There are two staples: The Grill and the Salad Bar. These are in the Cafeteria every day.
There is also a small toasting station, although it is more relevant for breakfast.
The featured dish of the day is where it really gets interesting. From classic barbecue to pad thai, the cafeteria makes delicious foods from a huge range of cultures.
Along with a dish, there is also a soup. It’s easy to miss, as it is tucked behind the salad bar, but they are delcious all the same.
There have been recent renovations to the cafeteria, opening it up in hopes of helping the flow of traffic.
Trying to stagger when you enter for lunch can be a big help. It also saves you time, as the lines become shorter and more efficient throughout the period.
More recently, a Pho Bar has been added. It may or may not become a permanent fixture like the salad bar, so if you like it show your support!

The Canteen:
The highlight of the canteen is Ms. Kathy’s sandwiches. You better get in line early if you want the ciabatta bread, though!
It can be a bit intimidating the first time you go up to order, so here are some tips.
1. Stay in your spot in line! Otherwise your sandwich contents could get mixed up with someone else’s.
2. Pay attention. When it’s your turn to order, be ready. This increases efficiency.
3. You’ll get remembered. If you come to the canteen often enough, Ms. Kathy will usually get to know you and your order.
The Process:
1. Pick your bread.
2. Pick your cheese and/or meat.
3. Wait– this is where Ms. Kathy toasts the sandwiches.
4. Pick your sauce. (The most popular has been dubbed “The Chipotle Sauce.” It’s nice and creamy with a hint of spice.)
5. Pick your toppings. (Note: you can always ask for a “light” or “heavy” amount of something.)
And now you have a delicious sandwich!
The Cold Case also has some unique options that can’t be found in the canteen, including fruit cups, yogurt with granola chunks, and pasta salad. These can be especially nice on hot days.
It also has a more generic Grill area, similar to the Cafeteria’s. Their fries and tater tots are top notch though!
Campus Store:
The campus store is best for quick, prepackaged snacks! These include candy bars, chips, and a variety of odds and ends.
