The Bolles Bugle is the official award-winning student newsmagazine of the Upper School! We strive to bring balanced, accurate news coverage to the Bolles community either through our website, printed issues, or our social media pages.

Our issues can be found in the stands around campus, and you can access them from our social media pages and website linked below. We hope you enjoy perusing our content, and if you have any story ideas, you can also submit them on our website!

This year, with a diverse twenty-five member staff, we are all eager to embark on this next year-long journey of journalism and discovery.

We publish on a monthly basis with a wide range of both standard news and special themed issues (such as Humans of Bolles, Choose Your Own Adventure, and our editorial cartoon issues).

Last year, many of our staff’s work placed first in various competitions. Most notably, The Bolles Bugle won first place in the Florida Times-Union High School Journalism Contest for Best Digital Newsroom and also won second in Best Overall. Besides those incredible feats, 11 other submissions won high placing awards. Additionally, we received much recognition from the Florida Scholastic Press Association with 2 Best of the Best’s, 5 All-Florida’s, and more from their Spring Digital Contests. Finally, to end the year, 8 staffers were named as part of the National Scholastic Press Association Honor Roll for 2021.

Twice a year, the Bugle also hosts a talent extravaganza called Coffeehouse, where the many gifted students of our school sing, dance, play instruments, speed paint, and perform various other incredible skills. Specifically, some fan favorites have been the remarkable Bollywood-themed dances performed by Avani Bansal, Amber Bansal, Deiya Pandya, and Aditi Ranjan, the wonderful songs Raphael Sogueco plays on his guitar, and the beautiful singing talents of Su Ertekin-Taner. Many of these breathtakingly skilled people will also perform again at our next Coffeehouse!

We cannot wait for the next year to come and hope you enjoy perusing our content!
