“Though Soccer is a great sport, when I think of Bolles Athletics, I think of Football, said Michael Hume, a soccer player.

At the Bolles School there is Football, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and many more sports.  With all these sports and around seven hundred students to participate in them, which sport is the main sport of Bolles? People often say that football is the designated sport for Bolles because of how many games, longest practice hours, and the best winning average. However, by the three rubrics of playing time, practices and wins, basketball is the dominant sport on campus.

The theory that football practices way more than any sport is incorrect. While football has practices 5 days a week for 2 ½ hours, soccer also has practice 5 days a week, but only for 2 hours. Baseball has 5 practices a week for around 2 ½ hours, the same length as football. However, Basketball has practice 5 and sometime 6 times a week for 2 ½ hours.

Men’s Basketball plays more games than any other sport at 27 games a season. Girls soccer has the second most games with 24. Baseball and Girls basketball tie with 22 games. Men’s Soccer has 17 games, while football has the least at 16 games.

Men’s Basketball has won 19 games, has 6 left, a 90.5% of games won. Next, Girl’s Soccer has played 22 games, won 17, tied 3,  77% won, and 13.6% tied. Then, out of the 16 games that football plays they have 12 wins with 75% won. Men’s soccer has played 16 out of 17 games and have a 43.75% of games won. Girls basketball has won 7 games out of the 20 they have played giving them a 35% of games won.

By the numbers, Men’s Basketball is the most dominant. It has longest practice days, most games, and best winning average.
