Boy’s Basketball Wins Semi-Finals, Advances to State Final

Yesterday, The Bolles Varsity Basketball team won its semi-final game against Tampa Catholic 68-53. Students crowded into the canteen, which was televising the game live since its start at 3 pm.

Students cheered every successful attempt, and sighed in unison at every point Tampa gained. The bulldog spirit was universal, as students from every grade and every team poured into the canteen to watch the game. When asked why she was watching, Mrs. Vagenas, one of the college counselors, said “I love watching our boys play, and win… and how about Lorenzo? I mean, he’s just got a name made for a sports announcer to say it.”

The game was televised on three different televisions in the canteen, but halfway through the game one of the TVs cut out. Students moaned and complained, then practically crawled over each other to reach the other side of the room.

At the end, when the game was over and won, every Bolles student celebrated unanimously. Many, mostly seniors, proclaimed they were going to the state game, which will be played at Lakeland Center at 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, February 25.
