Women’s Volleyball Victorious Against Episcopal Eagles

The Bolles Bulldogs defeated the Episcopal Eagles in a heated volleyball match last Tuesday, August 30th, on Zimmer Court at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. The Bulldogs took the victory in the fifth match winning by two points.

Besides the intense rivalry between the two teams, the atmosphere was tense because Riley Coonan ’17 had previously attended Episcopal and transferred to Bolles her sophomore year.

Coonan explains how playing against Episcopal is different because “you have a different weight on your shoulders because it’s a fight for your reputation to prove to them that you can play well even when the fans are yelling things to distract you.”

Although both Bolles and Episcopal had enthusiastic and rowdy student sections, the Bulldogs played with composuepiscopal-game-vballre.

The victory was a barn burner with the Lady Bulldogs winning by two in the fifth and final match.

The rematch between the two teams could possibly occur on September 23rd-24th at the tournament hosted by the Episcopal School of Jacksonville.
