Girls Soccer: Strong and Successful

Quincy Green, Contributing Writer

Losing is a feeling that the senior varsity soccer girls are not used to. In their 4 years, the girls have won 4 district championships and 2 state championships.

This year’s district championship meant a little more to the girls for 2 reasons.

The first being their opponent. The opponent was a familiar foe: the Episcopal Eagles, who gave the girls their first loss of the season.

The second reason was that the game was senior night, so the seniors wanted to win that much more. Leah Ferlin ’17 said, “The loss to Episcopal earlier in the year was really a wake-up call, so we knew the importance of the game.”

The girls showed a sense of urgency throughout the match and defeated the Eagles 7-0. The girls will continue their quest for a third consecutive state title in the coming weeks. The girls play Providence on Tuesday. Go Bulldogs!
