Bolles Students See the Future (and Drake)

Summer 2016 has sadly come to an end, but many students extended their vacation to Tampa for the Drake and Future Summer Sixteen Concert.

The duo performed over 70 songs and had two special guests, DVSN and Roy Woods, perform as well.

Leah Scott (12) went to the concert with a preconceived notion that she would like Drake more than Future. Leaving the concert she definitely thought Future was “more lit.” The senior said, “In my opinion Future was hype during his whole set and I think the crowd was just more youthful and not really into Drake 100% because of those mellow, emotional moments, but Drake as a whole was A-1! The best ever!”

Scott also really enjoyed Drake’s special effects. “The pyrotechnics just amplified the experience by 10000%!”

The concert itself was amazing but the biggest complaint from students was the merchandise pricing. One shirt was $55, and they only went up from there. Many people who sat around me were irritated because they didn’t prepare for the overpriced items and therefore couldn’t purchase any memorabilia.

Drake and Future definitely know how to entertain, and if I ever get a chance to see them again I will jump at the opportunity. But if I have to buy the tickets, I’ll probably skip the t-shirt.
